Loïc Gourmet

OUR STORY - ABOUT US

"It's fresh and ready to go French inspired food."

Born in Budapest, chef owner David Kokai has always been inspired by the tastes of Europe. After a year long trip with his wife photographer Kathleen Finlay traveling and eating their way through Europe, David has come back to fulfill his dream of bringing to Toronto his own version of a Paris 'traiteur'. Named after his two-year-old son, Loïc is a neighborhood place where people can find a great tasting meal without having to go very far. David draws inspiration from French cuisine while creating his own classics. At fourteen, David began his restaurant career in Toronto. In the sixteen years since, David has perfected his cooking skills at George Brown Culinary School and in great Toronto restaurants including Mercer Street Grill, Sauvignon Bistro and Sequel Restaurant. Opening Loïc Gourmet at Queen and Broadview was an exciting step for David in not only living in the neighborhood of Riverside, but also operating a business there as well.
